Diablo 4 Season 12 Loot & XP Guide: The Ultimate Farming Strategy

Welcome, wanderer! Season 12 has brought us something special—absolutely massive loot drops and a game-changing XP exploit that’ll have your Paragon bar shooting up faster than a corpse explosion. I’ve got a character that’s only 10 hours old and already sitting at 202 Paragon points. If you’re looking to accelerate your progress even further, you might want to buy Diablo 4 Gold to fund your gear upgrades and enchantments. Let me show you exactly how to replicate this.

The XP Cheese: Relentless Butcher Farming

Here’s the secret sauce: Bloodied Infernal Horde Compasses. These special sigils spawn the Relentless Butcher, and killing him? Boom—your XP bar jumps forward like crazy. I managed to get 14 Paragon points from a single Bloodied Infernal Horde simply by focusing on butcher spawns and taking him down.

The Catch

The Relentless Butcher is an absolute tank. With my current setup (202 Paragon, one legendary glyph, dealing 5-10 billion damage), here’s what I’m seeing:

· Torment 2 Bloodied Horde: Butcher has 20-30 billion HP

· Torment 3 Bloodied Horde: Butcher has 100-200+ billion HP

I actually have to drop down to Torment 2 to run Torment 3 Bloodied Hordes because the damage scaling gets ridiculous. The higher Torment butchers give more XP, but you need the damage to make it worthwhile. Right now, I’m farming more Obducite to squeeze out that extra damage so I can handle T3 Bloodied comfortably.

Farming Strategy: What to Run and When

For Brutality (Ether) Farming

Infernal Hordes are KING. Why?

· You get brutality from killing elites

· You get massive brutality from finishing killstreaks (900,500+ per round)

· Elite density is unmatched

· Helltides work too, but nothing beats Horde density.

For Reputation Farming

Drop down to whatever Torment you can handle efficiently and run NON-bloodied Infernal Hordes. The reputation gains are solid without the headache of super-tanky butchers.

For XP Farming

Run Bloodied Infernal Hordes at Torment 2 or 3 (depending on your damage). Drop down a tier if needed—the XP is still fantastic, and you’ll actually kill the butcher instead of tickling him for 10 minutes.

Where to Get the Good Sigils

Hit the Helltides hard:

1. Slaughter at the Shrines—farm these aggressively

2. Open Mystery Boxes—great source of sigils

3. Focus on the spinning fire towers and life-sucking towers—these reliably drop 1-2 Infernal Horde sigils plus Ancient boss sigils

4. Pro tip: Don’t wait until Torment 4 to use your Ancient boss sigils. They drop massive loot even in Torment 1-3. I’m currently farming Torment 3 Ancient bosses with 5-10 billion damage and the loot is insane.

The Real Loot Pinata: Field of Judgment

Let me show you what I mean. Opening a Field of Judgment and killing the boss:

· 2,600+ Fresh Meat from a single kill

· My inventory went from empty to completely full

· If Bile spawns during the fight? Even more fresh meat and identical loot drops

· This is where you get the most loot you’ve ever seen from a single enemy.

Fresh Meat: What to Do With It

Fresh meat is your gambling currency. You can hit the Purveyor for Bloodied items:

The Smart Play

Don’t waste fresh meat gambling for specific uniques in Bloodied form (like hoping for a Greater Affix Grave Bloom).

The odds are terrible. Instead: Use Bloodied items to fill non-unique slots that are hard to upgrade otherwise.

I gambled this ring, for example:

· 15% Attack Speed

· 10% chance to increase Hungering items during killstreaks

And this amazing amulet:

· 23% increased experience on killstreaks (absolutely fantastic)

For Specific Uniques

If you want a particular unique in Bloodied (like Godslayer Crown for my Necro—it’s incredibly OP), farm the appropriate boss sigil instead of gambling.

The Butcher: Free Fresh Meat (No Sigil Needed)

You don’t even need a Bloodied sigil to farm the Butcher:

1. Get Pounds of Flesh (drops from reputation chests and Helltides)

2. Head to the Broiler

3. Fight the (non-bloodied) Butcher

The results? Still Bloodied loot, still tons of fresh meat (1,000+ per kill), and he’s much easier to kill. He drops:

· New unique items (Rust and Duro Brown, His Thousand-Eye Reaver)

· Can also drop existing uniques like Fist of Fate or Grace of the Empty Tomb—potentially in Bloodied form

The Obducite Grind: Your Real Bottleneck

Here’s where I’m currently stuck. My gear quality is suffering because Obducite is scarce:

ActivityObducite Yield
Normal Nightmare Dungeon~30 (total scam)
Infernal Horde (1,000-2,000 ether)200-300
Horrid Strong Room300-400
Tributes of Refinement (T4)Decent

The Only Nightmare Dungeons Worth Running

I’ve rolled 100 Nightmare Sigils and still haven’t seen a Treasure Breach. The only Nightmare Dungeon that matters is Horrid Strong Room:

· Jump in

· Clear the strong room

· Jump out

· 300-400 Obducite per run

My Grave Bloom is only 25 quality. My focus is 15 quality. I desperately need more Obducite to push everything to 25/25.

What About Slaughterhouses?

Skip them. Completely useless.

Here’s why:

· No reputation for completion

· No crazy fresh meat drops (~300 per entire run vs. thousands from a boss)

· Terrible XP

· Bonus items at the end are underwhelming

I did the six required for seasonal rank and haven’t touched them since. Neither should you.

The Optimal Loot Loop

Here’s your daily farming rotation:

1. Helltides (Foundation)

· Complete every whisper

· Open orange chests

· Open as many Mystery boxes as possible

· Target: Stack Ancient boss sigils and Bloodied Infernal Horde compasses

2. Sigil Management

Keep only:

· Sigils with Horrid Strong Room (for Obducite)

· Sigils with Oble Reserve (pretty good, worth running)

· Destroy everything else. The butcher that chases you in normal dungeons doesn’t give bonus XP, so don’t waste time.

3. Reputation Farming

Run Torment 4 normal Infernal Hordes—solid reputation gains without the headache.

4. XP Farming

Run Torment 2/3 Bloodied Infernal Hordes until you’re strong enough to push higher.

5. Boss Rotation

Use those Ancient sigils! Don’t hoard them. Each boss kill is thousands of fresh meat and inventory-fulls of loot.

Current Goals & Progression

Right now, I’m sitting at 729 Obducite (pitiful). My priorities:

1. Get all equipment to 25 quality—need massive Obducite farming

2. If farming feels too slow, you can always buy cheap Diablo 4 Items from MMOEXP to skip the grind

3. Find my Druid rune—currently missing this for survivability

4. Push damage into double-digit billions—so I can handle T3 Bloodied comfortably

5. Get a Bloodied Godslayer Crown—target farming Harbinger’s Den

6. Speaking of survivability: playing Necromancer in Torment 3, the Butcher looks at me and goes “boop, you’re dead.” I need those gear upgrades badly.
